About Carol and the artwork
Carol resides in Broome in the North of Western Australia, an area rich in supporting the heritage and culture of Aboriginal artists.
In this painting, Carol paints about the Bush bark, Waterhole and fish. The dark lines indicate travelling to waterholes, places that are abundant with the fish that are hunted for food.
Carol uses striking, bold line and dot work to tell her story of the waterholes in her country, straying from her commonly painted Boab dreaming and usual bright colour palette she has opted for a black and white colour palette for this stunning piece.
