About the artwork

In this painting, Bev paints honey ants. The honey ants can be found deep underground. Women will go out to hunt for honey ants, finding their underground tunnel systems and digging as deep as a metre to find them. Honey ants can usually be found underneath a Mulga tree. By being delicate with the ants, the honey is sucked from their sacks with care to ensure the ant lives and that you are not bitten. The ant can then continue collecting honey.
